I have heard that the word golf is an acronym, is that true?

No, the word golf is not an acronym. However, many people do believe that is stands for “Gentlemen Only, Ladies Forbidden.” But this is not true. In fact, women have been playing the game of golf since its beginnings.

Do I need golf shoes to play golf?

No, you do not need golf shoes to play golf. However, some courses do require them. Also if you are serious about the game it is important to invest in a good pair of shoes.

My golf clubs were recently stolen. Can I use my roommates?

Obviously, yes you could use another person’s clubs. That said, they may not be the best choice for your game, especially if you are used to clubs that were made especially for you and you characteristics. It may be better to go and purchase a new pair of clubs.

Do I need a golf cart to play golf?

No, you do not need a golf cart to play golf. Many courses have carts available for rent, but it is not required that you use a cart when you play the game. If you can handle it, it is much healthier to walk the course.
